Employee Computer Security Training

Computer users are the least predictable and controlled security vulnerability. In the majority of cases, a lack of education and an understanding of basic security principles and procedures are the main causes of security breaches rather than malicious activity – although the latter can never be ignored. And it takes so little for a security breach to occur.

A recent survey of small businesses revealed that "Nearly half of small companies in the United States believe that employees with a better knowledge of security issues and the part they play in a company’s IT set-up would help to improve network security, a new survey shows, while one in four say that even management should be more aware of security issues and threats."

Small companies today have to dedicate more time and resources to deal with end-user support issues. The proliferation of consumer devices and the increasing number of employees using laptops, in and out of the office, have widened a network’s footprint and with that the associated increase in threats.

As part of the overall computer security relationship with Forensic Discoveries, we offer computer security training for your employees. Computer security is important to you, but so is employee productivity, so we provide basic security training that can be given during a lunch so valuable time is not wasted. Not only will this training benefit your security posture, but employees will also perceive a personal benefit with the security knowledge they can leverage to protect themselves and their family from electronic identity theft, phishing attacks, and e-mail security.

Our training is based on the National Institute of Science and Technology to include the following topics:

* Handling user IDs and passwords
* Internet and email usage
* Mobile device and laptop security
* Social Engineering
* Incident Response

Being an active member of government sponsored computer security associations, we have access to information before the general public. Once a customer of Forensic Discoveries, we will send your employees information released on the latest computer user attack methods (phishing, e-mail scams, social engineering tactics, etc) to keep your company informed.
